I have over 10 years’ experience of working within the learning and development field building a thorough knowledge of the issues and challenges faced by organisations, designing and delivering people management strategies and tools in response to those challenges. I am able to combine this understanding with my expert knowledge on coaching, leadership and management delivering thought provoking sessions with passion and energy. I am highly motivated and aim to inspire others with my enthusiasm. As a manager myself I hope I understand the day job and this gives me some credibility as a trainer and coach as well as real-life scenarios to reflect and learn from. I know first-hand how valuable time away from the “day job” is in the learning environment and this drives me to provide quality learning that delivers practical every day tools that can be used easily and straight away.
Previous roles have seen me working for the Department of Health delivering transformational workforce change programmes. Liaising with stakeholders across complex care systems, negotiating and influencing at all levels has ensured I have developed excellent interpersonal skills to engage staff, enabling and empowering individuals and teams to embed meaningful culture change. Recently I have been working with Enabled Living in Newham as their People Development Lead, leading a team to deliver a workforce strategy to ensure business and people growth over the next 3 – 5 years. Working alongside operational managers to design and deliver the components of excellent people management, moving away from a traditional community equipment provision model to a more customer focussed retail outlet and web presence. Closer to home I have been working with Children’s services in Cambridge leading a 3 year piece of work to sustain the improvements of the Government legislation A Call to Action to shape and deliver their leadership strategy.
Whilst I am passionate about all things people development I try not to take myself too seriously, luckily I have 2 young children that help me with that and who also ensure my time management skills are tested daily!
